Corn Marigold (Chrysanthemum segetum)

This yellow-flowered ‘daisy’ with attractive blue-green leaves is a vigorous annual which flowers in mid to late summer. It was once common in arable fields but is now found mainly in the Western Isles and north western Scotland. It has many Scots, Gaelic and English names including Corn Marigold, Manelet and Yellow Gowan.

This flowers the same year that it is sown, or the next year if sown in autumn but as an annual it will need to be resown if you want it to grow again.

Popular with pollinators like hoverflies.

  • Grows up to 60 cm
  • 150-250 seeds per packet
