Scottish Bluebell (Campanula rotundifolia)

Also known as Harebell and as Gowk’s Thummles (Cuckoo’s Thimbles) in Scots, this delicate perennial, with its sky-blue bell-shaped flowers, grows in dry grasslands, banks & verges throughout Scotland. Flowers in mid to late summer with stems up to 30 cm.

Sowing:  Can be sown at any time of year, but best in early autumn or in spring.  Sow in trays or pots of moist compost & transplant to an open sunny site or scatter directly onto a fine raked seed bed & firm down well. Keep young plants watered & weeded.
