lowering early in the year, Water Avens thrives in pond margins and open or lightly shaded damp sites. This perennial waterside plant has flat, peach coloured petals on down-turned flower heads, with attractive red stems from 30-40cm tall.

Sowing: Can be sown at any time of year, but best in early autumn or in spring. Sow in trays or pots of moist compost and transplant to a pond margin or site that does not dry out. Alternatively scatter the seed directly on a fine raked seed bed and firm down well. Water well and keep the young plants weeded. 100-200 seeds per packet.
